Due to the current situation, more of us are working from home to try and slow down the spread of the virus. Turning your home into an office is a challenge even at the best of times but it can even more difficult to separate work and life.

Here are a few things you can try to do to effectively work from home;

Tip 1 – Change out of your pyjamas every morning, it will help you get in the right head space ready for a days work ahead, along with any schedules conference calls

Tip 2 – Choose a dedicated work space, ideally one with comfortable furniture. This could be in your spare room or even dining room table.

Tip 3 – Try not to use your bedroom as a home office. Keep this a sacred space for sleeping and relaxing. This will help divide work and home life.

Tip 4 – Make sure to wake up in plenty of time, given yourself time to prepare both mentally and physically for the day ahead.

Tip 5 – When the day is over, sign out of work-related apps and turn off notifications.

Tip 6 – Listen to music quietly in the background, break the silence of working alone without your colleagues around.

Tip 7 – Take a real lunch break

Tip 8 – Be in regular contact with people on your team to make sure you feel like you’re working from home.

Tip 9 – Have some fresh air, go for a walk or even just sit outside for a small break.

Tip 10 – Finally, stay active when you can. Home workouts on your phone or laptop can do just the job
